About Tashmika Rajakaruna

My name is Tashmika and I’m an experienced Biology teacher with over 9 years of active teaching that is formal and informal. I focus on Edexcel and GCE AL Biology and ensure that students understand the concepts deeply. I started my career in teaching as a Biology teacher in a well-known girl school in Sri Lanka, and from 2015 I’m into private tutoring. At present, I run my own online Academy named Bio by Tash where I hold classes for Edexcel AL Biology, which I undertake as a partial Online teaching Academy. My students describe my classes as engaging, mind-blowing, and fun since I facilitate using simple yet effective strategies such as descriptive explanations, diagrams, and interactive tools. My ultimate goal is achieving proficiency through an interactive conversation, therefore my lessons are tailored around ‘encouraging’ students to ask as many questions as they have.
